| Hi
,
(We're
blessed with a gifted team at 106.9 the Light that's truly called
here out of a passion to serve you in the name of Christ. Here's
some reflections from the heart of our Alice Knighten, Director
of Administration and Finance. Enjoy! - Jim)
Have you ever done this… you put on ChapStick
or lipstick and discover you have a piece of lint (or something)
on your lips? Then you try to get it off without anyone seeing.
You rub your lips together; you use a finger; you try a piece of
tissue and all those small attempts still leave you with that bothersome
lint. What you finally do is wipe your lips clean and start over.
That happen to me recently in a group setting, and I finally did
take a tissue and wiped my lips clean.
I thought to
myself that sometimes I handle sin in my life that very same way.
I try to wipe it away gently without anyone seeing rather than just
getting straight to the problem and seeking forgiveness. In the
Bible, John wrote letters to the church of his day and in I John
1:8-9, he writes “If we say that we have not sin, we deceive
ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He
(God) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse
us from all unrighteousness” (NKJV).
Wow, it's so simple. We’ve all sinned and
we all need forgiveness. So we should simply go to God and talk
to him about it from the very start. He will clean it ALL away.
This is exactly the good news we hear from the
music and Bible teaching on 106.9 The Light. It is encouraging,
uplifting and simple. And an easy tool to share with someone else.
I welcome you to join me and others every chance we have to tune
in and receive this encourage AND offer that 24/7 encouragement
to someone else.
