becoming Director of Blue Ridge Broadcasting and Director of Radio
for the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, My life has gotten
even fuller! I'm thrilled Alice Knighten said "yes" to
the opportunity to step up to our General Managers' chair. You'll
be reading from her from time to time and getting a glimpse of why
I know God has chosen her for this season at the ministry. I'm honored
to present a word from her right now, in fact.
“Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” Psalm 107:1 (NKJV) The Thanksgiving holiday is my favorite holiday, not just because of all the food we are privileged to enjoy (although I admit I like that part) but because it is a season with very little commercialism. Friends and families get together and just enjoy each other with no other motive or intention. When I think of that I ask myself, “Do I thank God with true thankfulness, or do I have another motive?” There is a lot to be thankful for this time of the year; however, at the root of all of my thanks should be that Jesus Christ gave His life for my life, and it is through God’s mercy that I am a child of His. WOW, what could be more important than that to be thankful for! Then I think of all the many other things He provides to me, and I am in awe at who God is. With the entire universe to control He cares about each one of us individually. If you are reading this and you don’t know Jesus personally, why not ask Him today.
