Summer Blood Drive

Listeners Respond With Blood Donations During Summer of Caring

Black Mountain, NC -- August 25, 2008 -- 106.9 the Light ended its annual Summer of Caring by collecting 163 units of blood during a five-day multi-city blood drive.

This was the third year 106.9 the Light partnered with the American Red Cross to conduct a multi-city blood drive. The drives were conducted at car dealerships in Asheville, Hendersonville, Hickory, Gastonia and Lincolnton. This year listeners donated 163 units which impacts 489 lives. Over the three years, 406 units have been collected impacting 1,218 lives.
