“United to Serve Others” Youth Event
Thursday, August 7th
9:30 PM @Asheville’s Fun Depot
Creating an opportunity to serve others in Christ is the motivation behind a new event: “United to Serve Others” Youth Event. A back-to-school jamboree that provides school supplies and backpacks to young people in need is ABCCM’s idea to extend a new opportunity for our youth and youth leaders in sharing God’s grace.
We are teaming up with Asheville’s Fun Depot and WMIT “The Light” to bring this fun filled evening to Youth Groups. Crawley Lee & Co are helping to sponsor the event. William Graham III, grandson of Billy Graham, will offer an inspirational message. ABCCM teams up each year with the Kiwanis Club of Asheville to help with there annual “Backpack Project.” The supplies are given to local organizations to help children and youth help start the school year right with the gift of a backpack and much needed school supplies.
The entrance fee to the event will be a donation of $5 worth of school supplies or five dollars per youth. The event will begin at 9:30 with a Praise & Worship time held outside. The Worship team from Faith Community Church will perform contemporary Christian songs. Then William Graham III son of Franklin Graham and grandson of Billy Graham will speak about the importance of becoming involved. Sister ministries will be invited to set up to let the youth know of service opportunities available.
Then it will be time to head into Fun Depot. The youth will receive a 1 hour time play package which will allow them unlimited non-redemption arcade, mini golf, batting cages, climbing wall and use of one attraction: Bumper Cars, Bowling or Laser Tag. Due to city regulations they will not be running the outdoor go-carts. They will be able to purchase indoor go carts and extra time and attractions.
Space will be limited to 600 so you need to register! Please call and reserve your youth groups space and to receive a list of the needed school supplies we are collecting. Parking will also be limited so we are asking when possible to come in church van or bus.
